“Funk You Come Again” is the first release for Netherlands-based producer Baramuda on the northeastern US house music label Columns Of Knowledge. Baramuda has previously released tunes on labels like Spinnin’ Records, Abzolut, and Made In NL and has seen support from Mastiksoul, Judge Jules, Rene Amesz, David Penn, D-Formation, and many others. His rounded house sound covers a lot of territory, blending from house to techno to disco. The horn-laden disco progression of “Funk You Come Again” should fit well in the sets of house music DJs all over. It chugs along and breaks down with a forward surge, recalling a vibe that is at once retro, funky, and pumping … just really good peak time house music. Red hot UK DJ/producer Filthy Rich supplies the remix, adding to his exhaustive catalog that includes tracks for the likes of Cr2, Toolroom’s Leaders label, Nervous, and his own Control Freq label. His version of “Funk You Come Again” is unbridled tech-house that hits dead on and takes the cut in a totally different direction. Filthy Rich’s big world sound blends the track between filtered disco-tech and tribal-tech with many layers grooving and washing across the track. There’s a lot happening here, and plenty to reward the dance floor. Dig in!
DJ Romain - “Slamming track. A must-play, solid dance floor movement. Will get support from me.” Benji Candelario - “Good tune!” Mark Knight (Toolroom) - “Nice work from Filthy Rich!” Onionz - “Hot!” Static Revenger - “Great work!” Joey Silvero (Distant People) - “I like the sub-bass and the cool drum fills. Rockin’ mix.” Dario D’Attis (Purple Music) - “Both mixes sound amazing.” Fer Ferrari (Deepclass Records) - “Filthy Rich for me! Very good.” Louk - “Love the drive on this! Wicked percussion and I like the title, too (Simpsons fan here).” Nick Holder - “Wicked track! Both mixes are cool, feeling Filthy Rich Remix a bit more.” Checkpoint Charlie (MyCuppaT Blog) - “Solid tech house here. Big bass, incredible build-ups, lovely rhythms - a real winner. Rich’s remix throws down that strong, bouncy vibe with a naughty, rumbling bass line that really works for me. Going straight into the box!” Dino Michael (Godfathers House Radio, South Africa) - "This will rock the more uptempo house crowd big time. I can picture Danny Tenaglia Dropping this. Monster dancefloor track!"
Additional support from Audiojack, Dubfire, Gus Calderone, Christos Kedras, Robert Owens, Timo Garcia, DJ Style, Hippie Torrales, and Merlyn Martin.
